RIVA achieves change through cross-sector collaboration. We build relationships with practitioners, policymakers, commissioners, researchers, funders, investors, and organisations working to strengthen prevention, infrastructure, and innovation across the system. We are particularly interested in bringing into the system new insights and actors.

Collaboration and partnerships

We are interested in collaborating with systems, localities, and organisations working to develop more effective responses to violence against women and girls.

  • Supporting system re-design and modernisation

  • Developing policy and commissioning

  • Catalysing social investment, prevention and innovation

  • Convening cross-sector collaboration.

We are particularly interested in collaborations that help strengthen long-term system capacity, improve prevention, and generate transferable learning across sectors.

Highlighting learning and innovation

RIVA is interested in identifying and sharing examples of innovation. This includes work taking place within:

  • Frontline public and voluntary sector practice

  • Safeguarding and multi-agency working

  • Commissioning and governance

  • Research, learning and evaluation

  • Funding and investment

  • Wider public service reform.

We are particularly interested in work that helps systems become more effective and sustainable over time.

Advisory, evaluation, and system design support

Alongside our wider reform work, RIVA provides strategic support to organisations, partnerships, and public bodies working across violence against women and girls and related systems.

Our work includes:

  • Strategy and advisory support

  • Systems mapping and review

  • Investment, programme, and system design

  • Evaluation, learning, and theory of change development

  • Facilitation and convening

  • Supporting test-learn-grow activity.

Our approach combines frontline understanding with experience across public policy and commissioning,  social investment and entrepreneurship, and system design.
